Construction Commences on a 5 MW Solar and Battery Station in Mannum, Expected Completion in May 2024
South Australia, MANNUM – September 23, 2023
GGP Energy has announced the commencement of construction for a large-scale solar and battery station project in the Mannum region. The project aims to build a 5-megawatt (MW) solar power generation station and a 4.5-megawatt-hour (MWh) battery energy storage station, with an expected completion date in May 2024, followed by grid connection and power generation.
GGP Energy has closely collaborated with various partners and the local government to drive the construction of the Mannum project. The project will utilise high-quality PV panels provided by Longi Green Energy, inverters from Sungrow Power, and batteries from Contemporary Amperex Technology (CATL), all renowned suppliers in the industry, ensuring the quality and reliability of the project.
The Mannum project offers several advantages, including load balancing, frequency regulation, grid backup and resilience, voltage support, power quality, integration of renewable energy, and grid optimisation. These benefits will help smooth out power supply and demand fluctuations, enhance grid stability, improve overall power quality, and provide clean and reliable power supply to the local community.
“We are immensely proud of the progress of the Mannum project, which signifies our ongoing commitment and achievements in the renewable energy sector in South Australia,” said a spokesperson for GGP Energy. “We will continue our efforts to drive more similar projects, bringing more clean energy to the local community and the entire South Australia region.”
